What makes Bloom Cookery & Nutrition Courses so different?

by | Apr 10, 2015 | Blog

Next course: July 7th-12th near Rome, Italy

There is nothing new about cooking courses and now there are many cookery courses available focused on nutrition, whole foods and healthy eating. So why come on a Bloom Cookery Course and what makes it so different from the rest?

First we flip the theory. We look directly at how we eat and how we NEED to be eating, to not only support optimum digestion and assimilation of nutrients from our food but to also understand the impact of our choices – personally, socially and culturally – and at how we can positively contribute.

The process begins before we even begin to cook or eat and our courses pay close attention to everything from the produce we choose to buy and where it has come from, season, location, vitality, nutritional value, self awareness, posture and breathing.

From this solid foundation and understanding we enter the kitchen with reverence, it is our sacred alchemical space, where magic happens and souls are nurtured. Food that is created in this atmosphere takes on a different quality and vibration. Our courses not only teach the basic kitchen skills, key preparation methods and cooking techniques, but also offer meditation, food consciousness practices, yoga and qi gong to facilitate a fully embodied experience.

Backing up and providing inspiration for the work in the kitchen, the nutrition talks go into deeper detail of the science behind nutrition, balanced with the Taoist system of Five Element Theory. This approach connects us to the rhythms of the natural world, the energetic qualities of foods and their medicinal/healing properties.

If you would like to explore food, cooking and nutrition in a way that goes deeper and beyond a recipe, collection of ingredients or a tasty meal on a plate, then Bloom Holistic Cookery & Nutrition Courses will equip you with the necessary tools, techniques, ideas and inspiration for creating nourishing, sustaining, life giving food as a fundamental part of everyday daily life.
